An entrepreneur life means life of hard work and challenges. Starting a business or a company is not like working for one. So, if you want to start an entrepreneur life you have to expect everything and endure in everything, but every person that has walked the path knows is worth it.
Being an entrepreneur is not that simple and is not that hard. I believe is all about finding the balance on the things you have to do. At this point in my life, while I’m writing this final lecture my head is thinking on the three main businesses I am willing to run this year. Being an entrepreneur is a 24/7 job; it does not start at 9 in the morning and definitely won’t finish at 6p.m., rather it will consume your entire time. So, the first thing to do is to have a notebook, agenda, something where you can write your thoughts, a book to see the calendar and write down all the things you have to do.
Why did I say that starting a business is not the same as working in one? You can get experience by entering a 40 hours/week job, you will learn and get appropriated knowledge for what you have to do, but you will only learn one aspect of the entire business. Once you want to fuel your own, you will need to think about finances, marketing, operations, suppliers, costs, employee (if needed), retailers, wholesalers, taxes, transportation.
My advice to those willing to start an entrepreneur life is to, in the meanwhile of organizing ideas, is to learn time management. Time management will be the difference between success and failure. There are many things to take into account when starting out, nothing to be scared of. Once you have a clear vision of your product or service the rest will fit in place if you get to organize every step correctly.
I mentioned I am working on three main business I want to grow. I am not saying that having three main business is a good idea, it is exhausting. One thing that I do to organize is to divide in days every business. For example, I mostly use Mondays to do college stuffs and little projects I can work, mostly using my computer. The next day, I plan on working on drawings and sometimes chocolates. The next day I’ll film for YouTube, and on and on. That’s a weekly schedule since there can be a lot of changes. It is all about organization, so you can keep up with everything that must be done. That is what I can teach with my personal experience and what I have learnt from this path I have walked for quite a long time.
