New Year, new vision
This week the assignments were kind of odd. I always enjoy writing
on my blog because it's like a time to reflect on myself and relax from all the
stress of the week. This is really my space, my time to think about me.
I believe I have never thought
about what I really want to accomplish in life before I die. I was only
thinking about making a living and providing money for my family. Making a
bucket list was helpful to ponder on the things I've always wanted to do but I
have never thought of. Choosing the top three things to do this years was also
a hard task because when you really think if you can make it possible, then
everything changes. Is not the same as having a vague idea of what to do.
Reading the Transcript
of Pausch's Last Lecture I realized that having a clear vision of what
you want to do is better than not having anything. Thanks to this list I decided
to finally start a YouTube channel. Planning my videos and storyboarding them
is not that simple but that is what is required to really succeed on the
platform. That's exactly what we have to do with our lives. Thinking backwards
and putting myself in where I want to be at age 70 and coming backwards to my
30s made things much simpler to plan. Knowing exactly where you want to reach
and then plan the steps needed to get there made everything clearer and
meaningful.
I believe Pausch was able to accomplish
many of his childhood dreams because he never lost the vision of them.
Sometimes we are struggling, or think we are struggling, with so many things
that we think everything is hard to do. Every week my wife and I are reviewing
our week plans and that's truly a headache.
Take a deep breathe, washing
your face and taking a minute to clear your mind can be very beneficial to
realize that things are not that hard.
Dreaming big is important,
otherwise you'll find yourself on the same spot for years and years. We all
have talents and what we need to feel is that we are useful to society and the
people around us. That's why you must dream, and dream big. That's the vision
you need to really do something of your life.
As a kid I've always wanted to
work at DreamWorks. Now, I think that dream will never be accomplished. Why?
Cause I don't want to work for nobody, I hated the time I spent being an
employee, I want to start my own thing and really do things in my way. So, in a
way of thinking, is a good thing that this dream never accomplishes.
